Traditions of Mexico
From December 16th to Christmas Eve, children frequently carry out the ‘Posada’ processions or Posadas.

Christmas Trees are gaining popularity in Mexico, however the primary/most significant decoration remains the ‘Portal de Belen’

In certain states in Mexico children expect Father Christmas in the future on December 24th.

Traditions of The country
New Year’s Eve is known as ‘Nochevieja’ or ‘The Old Night’ in The country and something special tradition is you eat 12 grapes using the 12 strokes from the clock at Night time!

December 28th is ‘Día de los santos inocentes’ or ‘Day from the Innocent Saints’ and it is very similar to April Fools Day within the United kingdom and USA. People attempt to trick one another into believing silly tales and jokes.

Aside from Christmas, there’s another festival that’s celebrated in The country that is one of the Christmas Story. It’s known as Epiphany and it is celebrated on sixth The month of january.

The main difference are that people celebrate the Christmas with ‘Santa Claus’ and ‘Epiphany’ as well as in Mexico only celebrate it with Father Christmas.

Other difference is the fact that our primary Christmas decoration may be the ‘Christmas Tree’ as well as for Mexican people may be the ‘Portal de Belén’

The similarities are that people celebrate the Christmas with ‘Santa Claus’ so we decorate our home with Christmas decoration.
